Biography

Erin Chenard is a soprano specializing in repertoire of the Baroque and Classical eras. A graduate of Westminster Choir College and the University of Southern Maine School of Music, she holds a B.M. in Voice Performance and an M.M. in Voice Pedagogy and SimplePerformance. She regularly performs with the St. Mary Schola, an early music ensemble devoted to the performance of master works from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras. Solo appearances include concerts with the St. Mary Schola, Maine Pro Musica Orchestra, the Calderwood Consort, Music’s Quill, the USM Chamber Singers, and the Downeast Singers; she sang in the Westminster Symphonic Choir in the New York Philharmonic’s 2006 broadcast of Handel’s Messiah and has appeared at the Boston and Portland Early Music Festivals. Erin has sung at Jordan Hall in Yeomen of the Guard with the Bostonians Opera Company, and was a featured artist at Portland’s Victoria Mansion for the 2009 National Endowment for the Arts Big Read gala. Operatic roles include First Lady in The Magic Flute, Euridice in L’Orpheo and Phyllis in Iolanthe.
